Good morning!  This week I made a hybrid card for the Mojo Monday 282 Sketch with papers and elements you can find in Wild Blueberry Ink's new kit "Day Dream Believer" over at Pixels & Co.  I paired it with some Stampin' Up! Halloween Cupcake Toppers and Baker's Twine

Hello friends!  Here it is almost the end of August. I hope your summer has been a good one.  My summer has been great with the highlight being our trip to St. Thomas, USVI.  We've also taken a liking to pier fishing so my guess is that fishing gear and crab traps will on the Christmas wish list this year.  Lots of lazy days by the pool, late nights and way too much pizza and ice cream...how has your summer been?  As much as I love summer, I'm looking forward to getting back into a routine when school starts up after Labor Day.

I've been busy with my Etsy store and have added lots of new items.  It's not too early to be thinking of Halloween is it?

Candy Treat Bags for Teacher and Catching Up a Bit

Hello on this hump day Wednesday!  It's been one crazy month.  Lightening struck a tree in my front yard.  When I saw it happen I thought it was an underground gas explosion that's how loud and scary it was!  We are waiting to see if the poor tree makes it.  Then I'm getting ready to close my garage door one day and I notice the walls shaking.  Then the floor.  And I'm shaking.  Earthquake!  I joked the floods were coming next and sure enough...hurricane Irene whipped right through NJ.  I feel so blessed that in all this we are all ok and aside from lots of branches to pick up, no damage. 

The day after the hurricane was a beautiful sunny day.  But Irene managed to drop the pool temperature to 65 degrees so Andrew decided to just sit and chill. 

I hope you are all doing well and that nature has been kind to you.  I appreciate your visits, your comments and your kindness in checking in on me!

 On a crafty note, I do have a few new items for those special teachers out there.  My favor tags can be personalized...a nice touch!

Goo Goo Dolls and MOJO200

Hello on this beautiful and HOT Sunday!  It was a fantastic distraction to see AND meet one of my favorite bands, the Goo Goo Dolls.  Great show, nice guys and the Tropicana in Atlantic City was perfect...not a bad seat in the house!  OMG, I'm a middle aged groupie!  Michelle Branch opened and she was awesome!  I look forward to her new music in September.

And when I'm not enjoying my favorite music, I like making cards for my dear friends.  I used Wild Blueberry Ink's contribution to "Barefoot in the Spring Collaboration" from MScraps to create this hybrid card for a friend's birthday. I'm adding it to the Mojo Monday 200 challenge.  200 sketches already?!  Certainly lots of creative inspiration there if you never need to jump start your mojo!

How is your summer going?  Today hit 101 degrees and the kids said the temperature in the pool was 90.  I don't know if that's true but it provided much needed relief from the heat.

Wild Blueberry Ink at Scrapinsider This Month

Shirley of Wild Blueberry Ink is guest designer at Scrapinsider this month.  Did you know she is my favorite digital designer?!  I just love her Etsy shop HERE.  You can also find her HERE at MScraps.  I use Shirley's kits for hybrid card making, hybrid and digital scrapbooking and with this new "Muse" kit I simply added some elements to a favorite photo and printed it out.  Now framed in my favorite slate dragonfly frame, it reminds me that this little boy "his smile, his laugh" inspires me but when I showed him the photo he said "Mommy, it's your smile and your laugh..., you inspire me".  Aww...  I left the flowers in the background since it's a yearly tradition at our house to take photos when the cherry tree loses it's blossoms and leaves us with a pink backyard. I like it the flowers cropped out, too.

Deja Vu

It's a perfect day in NJ today and we've got lots of fun planned for the weekend.  We're kicking it off with The Script tonight (love those Irish boys!), karate belt graduation tomorrow for both my boys (yay, guys!!), high school graduation for 3 special boys tomorrow and Sunday is Andrew's final soccer game so, what else, another party.  Thankfully, I'm on the mend and able to enjoy all the festivities.

I haven't been posting much but here's something I've been enjoying...flower petals from our cherry tree!  The kids wouldn't pose for me but Harley doesn't mind hamming it up for the camera.  I love my pink yard.

Did you see the Royal Wedding?  I loved it!!  Amidst all the sadness in the world, it was nice to see two young lovers unite in holy matrimony.  Reminded me of my wedding day to my own romantic prince :o)
