Challenges- Sassy Studio Designs and Dare U 2 Digi Stamp

While visiting the lovely followers of the DCRU DT blog, I often find challenges that would apply to something I'm working on.  Here's a treat bag full of homemade Spritz cookies and it's just right for this week's challenge at Sassy Studio Designs (Sweet Treat Fun) and Dare U 2 Digi Stamp (use red, green and one neutral color).  The digi stamp I used is Sassy Holiday Collection- Holiday Tags from Sassy Studio Designs.  Too sweet!!

If you want to make your own Spritz Cookies, here's an easy recipe.  We love using the cookie press.  My boys call it the cookie gun.

This recipe works well with the cookie press. The dough is not chilled and is easiest to use within two hours of preparation. The dough can also be colored with food coloring.

1 ½ cups butter or margarine
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup granulated sugar
½ tsp. almond extract
1 egg
4 cups all purpose flour
2 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. baking powder

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Thoroughly cream butter and sugar. Add egg, milk, vanilla and almond extract; beat well. Stir together flour and baking powder; gradually add to creamed mixture, mixing to make a smooth dough. Do not chill. Place dough into cookie press and press cookies onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 6-8 min. Remove from sheet and cool on rack. Makes 6 dozen cookies.

Dee-lish!!
