When my bloggy friend Carol stopped by the other day, she wondered how Harley was doing. She still misses her beloved Timber. I know the feeling. We were heartbroken over the sudden loss of Comanche last year and after a few months found Harley at the local shelter. Check out your shelters. It's a great place to find a wonderful pet. Look at the crazy Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever we found.
Did you even know there was such a dog?!
Harley had been in the "doghouse" the night Carol checked in on him. I'm not a big meat eater but after seasoning and grilling a big juicy 2 lb. steak, my mouth was watering and I was hungry. I stepped outside to take a 5 minute phone call and that was all the time Harley needed to take that steak and chow it down over a 3 foot span in my living room/dining room area. Did I mention the steak was medium rare? You know, bloody. And that my carpets are cream colored (purchased when we had no kids obviously!!). Sigh...Harley is not one to steal food. Guess the smell was making him crazy too.
Ok, we can forgive the occasional eaten steak but the next night I was decorating a cake for Andrew's preschool graduation. When I went upstairs to help the kids get to bed, Harley decided to lick the icing off 1/3 off the cake. Back to the dog house! At least he didn't eat it. So I lopped off the dog germs and now we have...
the most pathetic graduation cake ever. I used the Cricut Cake to cut the frosting sheets. I think I may actually miss that shiny red beast when my demo days are done.
Love is all about forgiveness, right? It's ok Harley, we still love ya!
Share a pet love story today...it'll warm your heart.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I laughed till I cried or was it the other way. I love living through other people and their pups. But you did have a trying week. Thanks Cara again. I needed this.
How could you get mad at that face!?!?!!!! LOL. My Dad had my mom make a bunch of beef jerky one day and while they were gone, their dog got on the bar (a 90 lbs pit/lab mix) and ate THREE gallon bags full of jerky :) I now know why they use the expression, "Sicker than a dog :"

Yay for shelter dogs! Our Jake from the Binghamton Humane Society is the best. Apparently as a hunting Brittany, he wasn't much to brag about, which is how he ended up there. As a family member though, he's great :)
