Exciting things in store this weekend!

I have 2 things to share today. One is that I have some very exciting news but you'll have to come back tomorrow to find out what it is!!

The other is that tomorrow I'll be attending the Creating Keepsakes Convention-Valley Forge. Have you been to a CK Convention yet? It's an incredible shopping experience including the latest products and even discounts on my favorite supplies. Cardstock, albums, rubber stamps, embellishments-you name it, you can find it at Convention.

Between the shopping and the browsing, I'll be squeezing in a few classes- The Latest and the Greatest with Basic Grey, making a mini album, checking out Piggy Tales new interactive product "The Drawbridge Book" and taking scrapbooking to a whole new level creating and embellishing the transparent pages of an acrylic album. And after all that crafty fun, I'll be catching the Depeche Mode concert in Atlantic City! Fun, fun, fun!!

In the upcoming months, look to my Etsy shop for some exciting new paper creations utilizing new products and techniques.

Finally, don't forget to sign on as a Facebook Fan of Cara's Scrap 'N Stamp Art. There's a special discount going on that expires today. Check it out!

Here's a sneek peek at one of the winter sets I'm working on. It's hard to get into winter holiday mode with it being 90 degrees and sunny outside! Life can get a little crazy busy so it's not too early for me to start thinking ahead. Don't you just love the Stampin' Up felt flurries?

I had a sudden onset of pleurisy last week that knocked me down for a few days. Thankfully, I'm feeling MUCH better and back to my old self. That's good considering today would be a great beach day and we don't have any plans. Time to hit the road!! May sunshine and happiness find you today!

Diary 2010 Project August 19

Last month, I mentioned that I'm taking part in the third Diary 2010 Project. It's a fun project wherein artists, crafters, photographers and designers from around the globe choose one day and create their own page. The end result is a unique page per day diary that also includes months, addresses and note pages. New for this year is that the diary is trilingual (English, French and Spanish).

And here is my page, taa dah! What do you think? Many thanks to Lucy of Fantazya on Etsy for her guidance and the French translations. And muchos besos to my hubby for his help and everlasting patience.

Martha Stewart Wants Your Etsy Shop Wedding Crafts

Originally uploaded by Cara's Scrap 'N Stamp Art

Today I'm wishing my favorite person the happiest of all birthdays! Enjoy your day!

I don't focus much on wedding design, but this recent Storque article on Etsy has me rethinking that just for this purpose. Etsy and the editors of Martha Stewart Weddings are looking for DIY wedding crafts. The contest runs through September 2, 2009. For full details and all the legal stuff, check out Martha Stewart Weddings DIY Wedding Crafts. You do have to sign in to the site to view all the details but registration is free. You have a chance to have your craft featured on "The Martha Stewart Show." Do you think she'd like my Stephonitis Bouquet Wedding Card?

Martha Stewart Weddings will also be showcasing their top picks from Etsy wedding shops as part of their weekly gallery of "Favorite Etsy Vendors." I'm sure I'll see a few talented sellers I know in that gallery which changes weekly. And if you happen to see this summer's wedding issue of Martha Stewart magazine, take a peek because these Etsy sellers are featured aymujer, dsharp, FatDaddySweets, lalalaurie, palomasnest and whimsyandspice. Cheers to them!

Cara's Scrap 'N Stamp is on Facebook

Good morning! Sometimes I'm very tech impaired but setting up my shop Facebook page was easy due to this tutorial I found in the Etsy Storque section. Tweeking it has been more of a challenge. How can I make my avatar bigger? Despite having my Etsy shop in "My Stuff" I can't get it on to my wall. I'll figure it out later. In the meantime, feel free to click on the link to the right and become a fan. Right now there is a special discount for those who sign on. Thanks for checking it out!

Just for You

Originally uploaded by Cara's Scrap 'N Stamp Art

We're into week three of summer break and I'm working on my freckles since I don't really tan. Not much going on with my shop and the blog is slow. Keeping 2 boys busy has me sleeping later so my create time is very limited. I haven't even had much time to watch the Michael Jackson coverage. But we've been enjoying friends, lots of ice cream, the beach, the pool, live music, fireworks and just hanging out.

Here's a set of "Just for You" mini note cards with all new Stampin' Up products. The oval scallop punch is a new favorite. I also managed to set up my Facebook Fan Page and you can view it here. Sign on and you'll be the first to know of special sales and new items.

Happy summer!!
